One thing I am passionate about is supporting Black creators in the film industry. I was in college when I was radicalized into learning the importance of diversifying the pool of people who review Black films. This can make a big difference in the careers of Black film makers, actors, writers, etc. Every now and then I even get a film pitch idea of my own 🤭 . The Magnifying Stories logo and name represent my mission to advocate for Black storytellers across the Americas, just as the Magnolia flower can thrive in Southern and Northern climates with proper care.
